Headteacher's Welcome

Ilderton was awarded London Gold Club status by the Mayor of London for 2013/14, this is in recognition of the great results children from all backgrounds achieve at the end of Key Stage 2. We pride ourselves on having very high expectations for our children and strive to ensure their learning environment is stimulating and enriched, with their work being displayed and celebrated.

Over the summer in 2013 the School building was totally refurbished and refreshed to ensure that our children feel valued and comfortable.  The school’s work has been recognised by the Artsmark Gold award and the Basic Skills Quality Mark, and it is one of very few schools to have received a Platinum Sing-Up award.

We have recently received awards from Southwark Council for Outstanding Teaching and Outstanding Pupil Progress. The Department for Education has also recognised the impact we have had with our most disadvantaged children outperforming their peers across the country by giving us a Pupil Premium award.

Our high expectations and clear aspirations of high attainment and achievement permeate throughout our school building and are echoed by our pupil and parent community.  Quite simply ‘good’ is not good enough for the children and families of Ilderton Primary School.  Our outstanding learning behaviour enables all children to make accelerated and outstanding progress.

We are proud to be part of the Mayflower Federation and are committed to doing the best for our pupils. We have some exciting challenges ahead as we build on the good foundations and continue on our journey to ‘Outstanding’.

Headteacher
