Welcome to Swan Class - Fenstanton Primary
8 February 2018: Swan class have been investigating the fastest way to melt ice. We tested the sunlight, warm water and a hair dryer and found that warm water melted the ice fastest. We had dinosaurs that were frozen in ice and had to get them out by running them under warm water. Have a look at our experiment here and ask us what we found out! 24 January 2018: Last week Year 1 went to the Natural History Museum in South Kensington to learn more about our topic on Dinosaurs. We had such a great time at the museum - we saw just how BIG some dinosaurs were and had chances to feel models of their horns and skin. We also saw a moving model of a T-Rex - it looked so real! November 2017: We have been learning all about shapes. We had to look at a variety of shapes and work as a group to sort them into two groups depending on their properties - look at what we did! 18 October 2017: Swan class have made a fantastic start to the school year! Our topic this half term is 'Me, Myself and I' and we have been learning all about our bodies, senses and emotions. In maths we have been learning all about number and place value through practical activities and exploring resources to help us. Come and see more of what we've been up to at our class assembly on Thursday 9th November at 9:30. This week we have been learning about number bonds. We used cubes and counters to help find out which numbers go together to make a bigger number. September 2017: We have been learning how to use paint and water to create a gradient to mimic the illustrations in 'Augustus and his Smile'.
