SHINE on Saturday

Gipsy Hill

SHINE at Gipsy Hill Federation offers 60 places for children in Years 4, 5 and 6 from Kingswood, Elm Wood, Fenstanton and Paxton Primary schools. It gives the opportunity of a programme of creative, hands-on learning on a Saturday from 10am until 3pm in term time.

Children visit places of interest in London and further afield including theatres, museums, river trips and outward bound activities. In addition to our dedicated staff team of teachers and teaching assistants, we work with many visiting artists and professionals including maths consultants, theatre designers, architects, actors etc.

Some children who have attended the project in the past are still with us as student mentors, supporting the project and developing their  leadership skills.

Our aim is that children develop a love of learning, aspire to great things and enjoy SHINE on Saturday.

The SHINE on Saturday project is generously funded by the SHINE Trust and the Walcot Foundation.
